The Graduate Choir NZ presented a recital for Easter at Parnell’s Cathedral of the Holy Trinity. Titled "Et resurrexit" ("And He arose"), it featured the Bach masterpiece "Easter Oratorio" a seldom-heard work of exceptional beauty - with New Zealand’s premier Baroque ensemble AK Barok using original instruments, and a wonderful line-up of soloists: Jayne Tankersley (soprano), Dean Sky-Lucas (countertenor), David Hamilton (tenor) and Chalium Poppy (bass).
The programme also included the celebrated and exuberant motet of Bach "Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied" and Britten's famous Festival Cantata "Rejoice in the Lamb" with Timothy Noon (organ).
